Hello experts,
We are using SAP PCO to upload sensors information.
We can now access Data Access information from the OPC DA and OPC UA Servers.
But now we have a requirement to capture Alert information from an OPC UA Server. We do not have an OPC A&E Server, and the Alarm and Alert information are available on the OPC UA Server.
Question: What is the best way to capture Alerts of an OPC UA Server using SAP PCO?

Leticia

Hi Leticia,
I haven't used A&E with OPC UA before so I cant answer your question but will see what i can find out for you.
However based on your answer it appears you may be in violation of your license agreement. PCo is not a licensed product but you obtain usage rights by owning a license for certain products, the main ones being ME and MII. Can you confirm which product license you own that allows PCo to be used?
Thanks
Kevin

I found an Alarms and Conditions test server where in UA Expert I can see the alarms but I cannot see them using PCo which suggests its not supported yet. I can also not find anything in the documentation that suggests its supported.
I have emailed the product owner and will hopefully have an answer for you tomorrow.
Thanks
Kevin
Hi Mike,
Thank you very much for your answer.
We do not use SAP MII or SAP ME in our environment.
Our architecture structure intend to be OPC UA Server – SAP PCO – Hana SDI.
We are using, in the SAP PCO, OPC UA Source System to capture information from the sensors and ODBC destination to save data on Hana SDI. The alert must be received by Hana SDI and processed in an XSA application.
Here is an example of information from the OPC UA server that was loaded into HANA
OPC UA Data
Hana Data
And here we have the Alert information on OPC UA Server, and my question is, how can we access this kind of information using SAP PCO, to be able to load this to Hana SDI?
We also tried to use the OPC A&E source system, but we got “No OPC server found on the machine specified”, and this machine is the same used to OPC UA connection

Leticia
