How to avoid a BOM component from planning

I want to avoid a BOM component from planning and that component is relevant to costing, so dont want to use bulk material. Please explain.

In MRP 4 View in material master, maintain mrp dependent requirements as 1. or simply use MRP type nd.

I am trying to set the Bulk material indicator, however it is not allowing as it is relevant to costing.

What is the effect of removing costing relevancy to the component.

If you need a more specific logic to exclude the component from the MRP planning, you can also use BAdI MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA.
