Ex : If a product X (Real Substance) is a Mixture of Pure Sub(PURE_SUB) and Unlisted Sub (LS_UN_SUB).How to perform the PS and DG ?

Explanations:I have created the Three Substances in CGO2BD. So now how to Insert the  two substances in Product Composition X ? if all the      UN Listed Substances comes under DGM ? What about DG (DG_CL_SUB)

Thanks Alot in Advance .

Dear Sirisha,

To understand Incident management and risk assessment, please go through help.sap.com for component extension 3.0.If you are clear with the standard classic Industrial hygiene and safety, then you can proceed with the component extension as the functionality remains the same except the configuration may vary. The component extension is object oriented and can be run in Portal/NWBC.

For the standard functionality, go through the best practice document  D59_ERP606_Process_Overview_EN_AU.

For brief understanding of risk assessment check the link below which will show you how it is processed.

Dear Sirisha

regarding

"And can any one explain me with an example of How a complete Product Cycle will under go with respective to SAP EHS.(Product Safety & DG)"

Normally you start with a basic set up in EHS. That means you populate e.g. phrases, prepare basic customizing and then create "specifications" (e.g. prepare LIST_SUB. PURE_SUB, REAL_SUB etc.) and maintain data based on the needs of your organisation and the regulations. One important part is maintenance of compositions to maybe derive addtional data by using rule sets etc.

The basic maintenance of specifications is related to the SAP EHS BD module. Based on that result you maintain / create etc. e.g. MSDS/SDS and ship it to the customer. This is related to SAP EHS SAF module. On the topi if needed you can implement substance volume tracking to make sure that the company acting is in compliant to e.g. REACh etc.

Nearly parallel you need to prepare DG topics to make sure that you transport the materials according to laws and may be regulations which are applied on the top. Here you have a master data process and a "check" and "print" process as part of the logistic process in SAP ERP. This is related to SAP EHS DGP module. If needed you can make sure if the material can be stored somethere according to existing regulations etc. This is related to SAP EHS HSM module. In most cases you need to generate labels to be used on the drum (for transport etc.) This is done in SAP EHS-SAF-GLM process. And last but not least: if you generate "waste" you can handle that by using SAP EHS-WA.

Be aware of the fact that even of you have believed that you have completed any data on you specifications data changes need to be dealed with as well (e.g. legal changes like GHS etc.).

May be read: http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-41109

A number of companies help you to set up SAP EHS and to e.g. add phrases, layouts, rule sets etc. E.g. SAP is acting like that (check e.g. SAP EHS Regulatory Content – SAP Help Portal Page).

It is nearly impossible to list here all the necessary steps to "just" use SAP EHS. The needs are related as well to how the organization would like to use SAP ERP. Depending on the size of a company some roll out startegy is used as well (e.g. implement a framework for NAFTA region, then go on with euorep, asia-pacific regions etc.). Which strategy should be used need to be decided at the beginning of the project. The same regaridng the SAP EHS modules. Normally one start with SAP EHS BD andthen nearly parallel implment SAP EHS-SAF and SAP EHS-DGP.

Hope this helps.

C.B.

PS:  Regarding:

Ex : If a product X (Real Substance) is a Mixture of Pure Sub(PURE_SUB) and Unlisted Sub(LS_UN_SUB).How to perform the PS and DG ?

DG_CL_SUB and LS_UN_SUB are used only in the context of Dangerous Goods. Compositions etc. should be maintained either with PURE_SUB or LIST_SUB. You need to pay attention not to mix PS and DG topics ! duriung maintenance of EHS data. PLease read cross "Best practise" of SAP EHS implementation. This helps may be to get a understanding of the "normal" used data model (and be aware of the fact that anythign what SAP is delivering is only a "default" implementation; you can use if needed somthing totally different from that (but it is clearly not the "Best practise" to use something different).

Hello sirisha

for Incident Management & Risk Assesment  go through below link & Thread

For your Question : "Can any one explain me with an example of How a complete Product Cycle will under go with respective to SAP EHS.(Product Safety & DG)"

First understand the Basic functional differences b/w Product Safety & Dangerous Goods Component

Product safety will Helps the organisations which are in  manufacturing of  hazardous substances ,they  must protect humans and the environment from the hazards these substances pose and also have to observe numerous laws and regulations on hazardous substances worldwide.

This SAP component helps them to handle hazardous substances safely and bring them safely onto the market, and also comply with all relevant regulations automatically.

Dangerous Goods are Material or Chemical or articles or substances which have hazard property and capable of posing a risk to health, safety, property or the environment when transported. In the United States and sometimes in Canada dangerous goods are more commonly known as hazardous materials.

Dangerous goods classified according to various sets of regulations which are designed by “United nations Economic and Social Council(UNEC) for all Mode of Transports (Air, Ground ,Ocean) which form the basis for most regional, national, and international regulatory schemes.

Different Countries are developed their own country specific DG Transport regulations by taking reference from UN Regulations. For Example In US - CFR , Austria - ADG , Canada - TDG.

For Getting Better understanding on Product safety & DG functionality go through the below link

For your Question : I have created the Three Substances in CGO2BD. So now how to Insert the  two substances in Product Composition X ? if all the      UN Listed Substances comes under DGM ? What about DG (DG_CL_SUB)

you can use BOMBOS functionality for inserting In Product composition.

UN Listed Substances are standard substances which are designed by “United nations  Economic and Social Council(UNEC) . you can take the reference from these UN Listed substances to your DG Substances, One UN Listed substance can give the reference to various DG Class Substance.

For Better understanding on referencing concept from UN_CL_SUB to DG_CL_SUB go through the below thread f
