Gurus,

Can the SAP system evaluate the risks involved in a taking up a maintenance job.It should evaluate based on the input given & give an output saying it is safe to execute the job.Is this possible in SAP.

there is a feature " Job Hazard Analysis" is available in  Risk Assessment Solution of (SAP EHSM CE 3.0) .. Which we are called HAZOP in real rime scenario also. In JHA you can determine the risks in for Each and every step of the process . and can do the Risk Matrix determination depends on severity and Likely hood of the risk and you can review the existing available measures in the process and can determine the new measures for reducing the risk rating from high risk to low risk .. in this process you  can raise different tasks (Maintenance , Service ,Quality Notifications) for implementing new controls. once risk rating is reduced.

HI..

You can have Risk Assessment for a particular Work area or Functional Location. This can be configured in SAP EHS - IHS sub module.

In your scenario, you can have Risk Assessment before carrying out a Maintenance process. Assessment involves the Severity rating, Rating on the Probability of occuring Risk. Based on these ratings, you can have a Risk Matrix calculations and then determine whether Maintenance could be carried out.

There are multiple BADIs available for Risk Calculations.

If you have the chance start HAZOP not with the old way (EHS classic) but use Component Extension. Check EHS Forum to get more insight.
