Hi together,
I'm studying the online help and try to understand what are the pro's and cons of static and/or dynamic determination of EHS Labels. Could someone explain in easy (own) words what are the main differences between both ways...???
Request clarification before answering.
Hello
the topic is discussed rarely. I found e.g. this thread
https://answers.sap.com/questions/11224577/has-anyone-used-dynamic-label-determination-in-sap.html
Between "static" and "dynamic" process is one important difference which is explained here:
http://saphelp.ucc.ovgu.de/NW750/EN/25/3a04501e33d047e10000000a44176f/frameset.htm
in context of topic as "Determination of Transport Symbol Group"
And in same areas you can notuse the "static" and the" dynamic" process at the same time (e.g. explained here https://help.sap.com/viewer/8a399f5444164440ac4f426e847ec901/6.18.11/en-US/a7805451cf928f23e10000000...)
According to https://help.sap.com/viewer/8a399f5444164440ac4f426e847ec901/6.18.11/en-US/ea815451cf928f23e10000000...
one additional difference can be listed:
"For static label determination, the following applies: When product properties of the material (such as the legal classification for dangerous goods or GHS label) change, you may need to adjust the master data for the label, such as the label stock, the packaging hierarchy for the material, and the label data in the material master, to ensure that the system determines the correct labels to assign to the material."
Overall: both process support the user (or the process system) to identify the labels to be printed for one business scenario and the relevant materials in the process
As the word "dynamic" is suggesting: this process is more flexible (to may be support better the many business needs).
Any how: Label determination and label printing is clearly complexer than e.g. SDS dispatchment process.

Hello daytona80-1
Static and Dynamic are the general words ,
Static means :
The content of the label that remains the same across all labels referred to as static . Mostly used for the Product labels
Ex: Company logo and Most of the Headers and Headings (If you need always in same language)
Text boxes.
Dynamic Means:
The content of a label that does not remain constant and changes according to user input(s) is referred to as dynamic . For instance, in case of product details such as Product Name, Price, Quantity, and Description are stored in a database and are fetched for a particular product. Therefore, this content is dynamically generated and it changes across products.
For GHS labels.
Ex: Pictrogram
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi Satya,
thanks again like the in the past but sorry for my incorrectness, I mean static and dynamic determination according to this explanation:
So my question refers to the diffence in enter in material master (generic variante or label typ)
