Hello All,

We are trying to add the Custom Action which would enable us to generate documentation in MII. I followed the steps listed in Note 1325997. But I still see the icon under Transaction -> Generate Documentation icon as disabled. I would apprecaite your help with it.

Thanks,

Kiran

Please add the PDF action set and then you will be able to see that.

You can follow the note '1325997' for installing PDF actions with step to step guidelines.

Did you got this to work?

Following the SAP note didn't work for us.

Did you use the PDFActions.jar file from the SAP note?

What did we do?

1) Download the PDFActions.jar from SAP Note 1325977.

2) Also download the iText.jar from http://olex.openlogic.com/packages/itext/1.4.5 and iTextAsian.jar from

http://sourceforge.net/projects/itext/files/extrajars/ExtraJars1.0/

3) Go to the MII administration - System Management - Custom Actions and upload the PDFActions.jar file + iText.jar and iTextAsian.jar as dependency files. Press save.

The status of the PDFActions.jar assembly file is Deployed. Is this correct? Cause we didn't do anything to deploy it yet.

4) Go to UME and create a new role "PDF_role". Add actions: XMII_PDFAction_all, XMII_PDFservices and XMII_CustomAction_all to this role. Assign the role to your user. (our user is also a XMII_superadmin)

5) Check the menu option "generate documentation" in Transaction menu of the MII Workbench -> still disabled.

What did we forget to do?

Is it possible to somewhere undeploy this? can be usefull in the future...

Do we still need to do something in NetWeaver?

We can see the PDF Fonts menu in MII administration. Do we need to add a font?

System info:

SAP MII 12.1 SP07 and Netweaver CE 7.1 EHP1 SP05.

Thx!

Steven

You may want to upgrade to SP8 for your MII installation. Check the upgrade notes for more information. There was a version of MII that had problems with pdfs, but I don't remember which one it was.

Regards,

Mike

There was also a recent posting on this topic. Do a search in the Forum for Adobe or PDF. It held some good information.

Hi Steven,

Please try the following.

In Step 3 you have noted. Please re-deploy it.

In Step 4

We added all the PDF actions directly to the SAP_XMII_Administrator role namely XMII_PDFAction_all, XMII_PDFService, XMII_PDFAction_R , XMII_PDFAction_RWD.

It started working for us on closing the workbench and trying again.

Thanks,

Kiran
