File Attachment to NC logging

For SAP ME 15.5 Can the NC Client or somewhere else in the system be configured to allow file attachments when logging an NC Code?

I don't see a setting in NC Client Maintenance to turn this on. The help files don't explain where this setting is. Can you tell me how to configure it?

Have you set up FILE_ATTACHMENT_PLUGIN_ID activity rule?

Yes. The FILE_ATTACHMENT_PLUGIN_ID rule on activity NC_DATA_ENTRY is set to ATTACHFILE_PLUGIN.

Does QN integration need to be set up for this to work?

I see a note in the help "A file attached to an NC code in SAP ME is linked to a quality notification created in SAP ERP. The attachment must be stored in SAP Document Management System."

I've just check in the local system: it is possible to use File Attachment even at the site which has ERP Integration system rule deactivated. The files then get stored into ME Database locally.

Please make sure that your POD refers to a proper NC Data Entry plugin which has FILE_ATTACHMENT_PLUGIN_ID defined, and the File Attachment plugin itself is assigned to a panel of the POD layout. The system might have copies of Log NC and File Attachment plugins which are not linked properly.
