Hello

my next best guess is this: as it seems to be a "local issue" only happening for one user in my opinion we can exclude "access topics" but may be the local SAP Gui set up is "different" or the user set up is different (refer below).

To check this: the effected user should use a different client to log on in SAP to do the same job. My assumption would be: it will not work either. If this is the case: then we can assume that the user must have stored some "strange" parameters in relation to his/her user and we can exclude "local sap gui" topics.

So the effected user should check his/her "log on data" and there the "parameter stuff"; may be some strange parameters are set up.

Any how: never have seen such an effect in many years of using EHS

PS: e.g. if you select the property tree "STANDARD": this is stored with a parameter value on "user id" level. This is a niece feature. The person can then (on next log on) just go on in using "STANDARD" property tree without changing something. But there are some pitfalls with these parameters happening as well.

PPS: check e.g. this thread https://answers.sap.com/questions/10448427/f4-help-do-not-populate-value.html

https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAP/SAPGUI+Search+Helps could be of interest as well

same as:

and there as an quite old blog existing which didn't get an update in the last months:

Hi Chris,

The set up is done correct. The issue is only with one user and rest of us are able to use f4 to open the phrase set characteristics.

Hello

my best guess is this: the set up of EHS seems not to be complete. Please check the characteristic you are highlighting. Normally this characteristic does have a link to a "table" (and it is normally not phrase based) to support the "F4" dialog handling. I assume the characteristic is currently defined as "free text". In this case: no F4 help is existing. There is a very good chance that more than this characteristic does have the "wrong" set up.

PS: please check the many threads here discussing class/characteristic set up and issues in the definition of this
