Hi experts,
I would need clarification on below points,
When i try to export a Specification from CG02 Tcode, its getting exported in below .DAT format
+C
+SC ISO-R/3
+C for example the characteristic norm "ISO-R/3"
How ever its giving me the error when i load above file through CG33 Again. To remove this error i manually edited this .DAT file in notepad format by changing ISO-R/3 to UTF-8. Now it worked for me 🙂
But, When i get .DAT files from other officials to upload using CG33, They are in the below .DAT format
+C
+SC UTF-8
+C for example the characteristic norm "ISO-R/3"
So, the above file coming with the format UTF-8 directly. How others getting this format?
Where as i am getting ISO-R/3. What mistake did i do while exporting Specification in CG02. ?
How can i export the Specification to a .DAT file with the format UTF-8?
Are there any Export setting which are client specific ?
Please suggest.
Thanks much in advance
Best regards
Ramu

Hello Chowdary R
Please check your system env parameters
When exporting, the environment parameter value EXPORT_CHARACTER_NORM that you specified in Customizing for Basic Data and Tools under Specify Environment Parameters controls the format in which the transfer file exists:
If you have entered the value ISO-R/3, the transfer file is created in the format of SAP(ISO) code pages that are used in the SAP system and no conversions are performed.
If you have entered the value MS-NT, the transfer file is created in Microsoft code page format and the data is converted from the format of the SAP(ISO) code pages used in the SAP system to Microsoft code page format.
The SAP system automatically enters the environment parameter value EXPORT_CHARACTER_NORM in the transfer file for the +SC parameter.
UTF 8 is unicode format.
These are supported formats and you need to be careful file import and export of phrases or specifications.
Thanks
Satya
