Enhancement in SAP QIM Issue

Dear Experts,

My requirement is to add an extra Reference Object (of type Material) to an already existing QIM Issue with reference object for Plant. Currently, on creating an issue, table /IAM/D_I_OBJ_REF gets populated with an entry for Plant type ref object.

I need to enhance it in way to pass another reference object entry of type material getting saved in the same table. Is there any BAPI/FM/Class for this? How this can be achieved through code?
