Embedded BW for CPM

Hi

We are in the Process of converting our existing 1503 system to S/4 Hana 1809 system. We are currently using the embedded analytics (Local system)for CPM whereas other SAP functions (EHSM, Sourcing etc.) are making use of central BW (separate BW) system.

The client want to make use of only one BW system which is central BW, as to reduce the dual maintenance, however as per most of the SAP documents on CPM (Ref. Admin Guide, SAP notes) it recommends to make use of local BW i.e embedded BW.

The questions here are

1. Is it advisable to use the current step up ? i.e. using local system for the CPM and other SAP functions uses central BW system.
2. Is it advisable to use Central BW for SAP CPM financial planning and other functionalities?
3. Is it possible to deactivate the Analytics bundle activated in local system?

It is recommended to use the local BW setup for performance. The Analytics use virtual info providers with function modules for acquiring the Actual values in realtime from the transaction tables. If you run the function modules through the remote BW system it will in turn just call back to the transaction system.
