EHSM on S/4 HANA

Hello Everyone,

Can anyone help me by guiding me with some documents to implement EHSM solution with S/4 HANA.

I found few notes (for ex: 2217205, 2217206) mentioning that the functions Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene & Safety and Waste Management are no longer supported in SAP S/4 HANA. Can any one please suggest on this.

not sure what you are looking for. First: We have EHS classic; and we have "Component Extention."

The term "EHSM" can have many meanings.

In context: I found few notes (for ex: 2217205, 2217206) mentioning that the functions Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene & Safety and Waste Management are no longer supported in SAP S/4 HANA.

=> yes this is trues EHS classic IH/OH is not suppored in S/4 HANA. Component Extension is supported. Check the "rare" parallel threads her (one example: )

PS: S/4 HANA is a quite "tricky" term. PLease check SAP marketplace for EHS/EHSM. There are roughly may be 5 OSS notes discussing this "variant" of SAP installation.

PPS: may be read this document: "Simplification List for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition 1511" Just use this as search term in google. S/4 HANA will be an interesting challenges in the future (question is: what is the future? Cloud? Local SAP (called "on premise" solution)? Combinations of this... we will see

I think we should wait for future innovations in S/4 HANA , though SAP promises both on premise and cloud versions, there is the option for landscape transformation to selectively chose  processes you want to see in S/4 HANA.

Dear all,

1. If S4HANA is chosen is it possible to selectively activate EHS-WA (Waste Management) and EHS-HEA (Occupational Health) from component EA-APPL? (Note: in one of previous post Jagadeesh has mentioned "there is the option for landscape transformation to selectively chose  processes you want to see in S/4 HANA." )

2. If the answer for first question is "no" and if the client chooses S4HANA but still wants WA and HEA, then what is the solution?

Hello Praveen,

1. As far as the S/4 HANA version 1511, its not possible to activate Waste management and Occupational Health in S/4 HANA. Please have a look at the notes 2217202 for waste management and 2217205 for Occupational Health. We have to wait for the newer versions of SAP S/4 HANA to be released.

2. Still if we need to implement these sub modules in S/4 HANA might be we need to approach the custom code process which might increase the work of technical team.

I am sorry. Nobody will invest here money. SAP will not "move" EHS-WA or EhS-OH to S/4 Hana (current situation): The OSS note give here a quite clear direction to SAP customers. If you need them: you need a seperate SAP ERP installation. You can still use S/4 Hana for the "main" processes and e.g. do data execution via ALE (to my knowlegde should be supported between S74 Hana and SAP ERP platform)

It is available with SAP S/4HANA 1812, we had permission issues when we wanted to download.

Please reach-out to SAP to get the access to download the component.
