EHS on S/4 HANA ready to be implemented in 2023?

833

Hello,

I am in the assessment procress for the decision on whether to implement EHS processes (Risk Assessment, Incident management etc.) on S/4 HANA for a customer.

To all the experts with experience in implementing EHS processes:

- Are EHS processes on S/4 HANA developed to a state in which the implementation is recommended? Or does EHS on S/4 still lack some crucial functions, like S/4 product compliance "new functionality"? The latter is by far not ready to be implemented.

Many Thanks in advance

Hoang

For on premise and private cloud, the EHS functionality in S/4HANA is fully developed. Risk and incident processes are part of the Workplace Safety license.

In public cloud, the risk assessment process is newly revised in the 2308 release, and will get further updates next year to complete the process and handle chemicals. The incident process is complete and now has a new user experience and integration with a connected worker safety solution.

Hello Hoang,

We are using the Incident Management solution on S4HANA (on-prem) since 20 months now and although there are small areas of improvement, overall it is a solution that has been able to fulfill our requirements and has been accepted quite well in our organization.

We are currently implementing Risk Assessment on S4HANA (again on-prem) and to be honest this one has a much higher potential of improvement esp. in the sub-processes like Safety Instructions etc. As Michael has mentioned that this process has been newly designed for the cloud version already. We are hoping to see this in the on-prem version soon.

The other modules are on our roadmap but I cannot comment because I have no experience with these yet.

Assuming you are an On-prem customer, I would personally recommend you to go for Incident mgmt but wait for the new on-prem Risk Assessment.

One thing that I can tell you is that the EHS part of S4HANA is much more mature than the Product Compliance part at the moment. You can cover your EHS business processes quite well with the existing EHS product suite on S4HANA (unlike with the Product Compliance part)
