I'm sure you can answer this question quickly:
I am now creating specifications via OCC with autom. number assignment. Everything is fine as far as it goes. However, the specification header is automatically filled with SUB_NOPOLY, although I have not maintained this field in my import file. Where does this default value come from? I also checked Specify Exchange Profiles but didn’t found something….
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Holger,
I don't think it will work. As you say, if you leave it blank in the Excel file the OCC will remove it and during import the default will be written. So I can only suggest to fill the field in the Excel with a substance nature you can agree on.
Best,
Ralph

Hello Holger
in EHS we can have two variants
1.) either there is some "environment parameter" to check (i have not checked if we have something like that)
2.) or we have a parameter as parr of the "user id" (e.g. default property tree (i have not checked if we have something like that)
The SAP approach is therefore to a certain extent: during maintenance: support the use by using "default parameters"
If we load specs by using standard import: we have always a "substance nature" so therefore: i have not seen to far an example like you.
The substance nature (according to my experience) is helping the "chemist" (or whomever maintain something) to decide on some data. So according to my experience: most of the companies do have "maintenance guidelines" and the "substance nature" is involved here. Never seen a case not to maintain the substance nature.
But if there is a business case...

Hello Ralph,
thanks for your quick answer. But we would use this field as blank after an OCC import but how can we achive these? If we define these field in excel file as blank, the OCC remove these field to dat-file after conversion..

Hello Holger,
SUB_NOPOLY is a default value used by the system if you do not specify the substance nature in your import file.
