Hi all,

I have a problem with our address on the msds: the street contains the character "ü". By generating a msds in greek or russian, the character "ü" is replaced by the character "#".

Is it possible to set the address to non-translatable? The address is maintaned through the sales organization.

Cheers,

Dustin

Hello

before you ask a question regarding WWI: please check the many existing blogs especially for WWI; e.g. https://blogs.sap.com/2013/05/07/sap-ehs-management-for-beginners/

can be used as a reference to find the many blogs discussing WWI.

In a nutshell:

There is a good chance that the set up of SAP and/or WWI and/or the connection of SAP to WWI gen Server etc. is "wrong" (story of "UNICODE" mode)

But let us now look on your topic:

"I have a problem with our address on the msds: the street contains the character "ü". By generating a msds in greek or russian, the character "ü" is replaced by the character "#"."

Assumption: you are using either CG54/CG50 to display the may be released report or you are using CG02 and "Report from template" process.

Assuming now that you use hopefully SAP standard the story runs like;

In CG54 you must specify an "initiator". Based in this the WWI report will look for a "final report symbol" which is used to "derive" the company address.

The WWI Process uses then in the background the data as assigned to the "Initiator" (sales org) and tries to display the corrresponding "texts".

Now there is a good chance that during the data select and data display you run in the "UNICODE WWI" problem topic.

This is discussed often. Especially "Greek" or "Russian" texts can be displayed "wrong" in the WWI report.

Please check your WWI version (locally and on gen server); please make sure that any RFC connection is "UNICODE" enabled etc.

Therefore on top: check the WWI cookbook (how to set up a Gen Server)

I hope that you can get rid of your trouble soon.

Hi Christoph,

thanks for your advice. Here is the solution:

The environment parameter WWI_IS_UNICODE had the value "x". I changed the value to "X" and the street name is correct.

Thank you!

Dustin
