EHS for OSHA reports

Hello Gurus -

I am on an SAP HR project. Our client is having us implement EHS for the single purpose of being able to generate OSHA reports. What sub modules of EHS do we need to implement at minimum to generate the reports? I am a little confused as to if we need the Injury & Illness log or the Accident & Incident module or both. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Zaj

hello Zaj

I believe OSHA reporting is linked to "incident reporting" (that means workplace safety) and Incident report is managed in SAP EHS Industrial Hygiene and Safety (EHS-IHS).

Refer to this linke to get an overview about prerequisites etc.

http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_05/helpdata/en/8a/3b6e361b2fac0be10000009b38f839/frameset.htm

Be aware of the fact that SAP is investing in this area.

So therefore the SAP Component Extension 1.0 for SAP EHS Management (ERP) might be of interest.

Hi Chris,

A belated thanks for this response. Does this mean that the Injury/Illness log is not meant to drive the SAP OSHA reports but only the other EHS related reports? Or if we did so, would it require customization?

Thanks!

Hi c.b

Could you guide me in getting licenses in EHS module. Is it separate package required to get SAP-EHS licenses or same licenses can be used for SAP-EHS module?

Right now all modules are in place except EHS.

If i go for EHS module now, is it rerquired to have separate licenses or not? second question is that is there any book available to have SAP-EHS configuration.if so Kindly help me out ...

Regards,

Pardhu

Hello Pardhu

a.) yes you need a further license to use EHS but to my knowledge if you have the license you can use any module, as SAP has changed the license model you should ask SAP directly to get recent knowlegde (because know EHS is linked to "SAP EHS MANAGEMENT"

b.) Actually there is only the "SPRO" (if EHS is activated) and somebody is planning to write a book:

PLease take a look here:

http://www.amazon.de/SAP-Environment-Health-Safety-Management/dp/3836217260/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UT...

Without know how in EHS you would require a long time to prepare the necessary set up. My proposal would be: there are many companies which are capable to provide consulting in SAP EH&S. Might be a better approach. In any case. Refer to SAP training to get an idea which training sessions are available

With best regards
