Hello everyone!
First i would like to present my challenge here:
- I'm working in company which is responsible for trading chemicals (buy/sell). We have an idea how to automatically connect Dangerous Goods with Sales order. After that i can create ADR (adverse drug reaction) report.
- I read a lot of documents which show you how to do it but i'm stock somewhere. My procedure was:
1. In MM01 i created material which in tab (Basic data 2) include DG indicator profile + check Environmentally rlvt (picture below)
Q: Do i need something else to do in MM?
2. In EH&S -> DG management -> DG Master -> DGP1 I created master record which you can see in picture below
Q: Do i need any special tab to fill?
3. I activated DG checks in IMG -> EH&S -> DG management -> DG Checks and DG Documents/EDI -> Common settings -> DG Checks -> Activate DG Checks
4. Then i specified DG check methods. IMG -> EH&S -> DG management -> DG Checks and DG Documents/EDI -> Common settings -> DG Checks -> Specify DG Check Methods
5. Then i wrote somewhere that i must fill "Specify usage Profiles for DG Check Methods" but i didn't because in default it is empty.
Q: Do i must to fill?
6. I assigned DG Check Schemas for sales Documents
7. Then i made sale order (VA01) and save it.
From here i have challenges.
Q: What do i need to fill or set up more to have DC check available?
Where i do something wrong?
All i need to do is to check DG and display them in other SD document.
And in next step i must to do ADR report which include 1000 points calculation.
Please help.
Regards!

Hello
normally one will do a "DG" check for sales order and for delivery
3. hmmm...i read that if i want to check only materials which are in the Sales order, then i must to check only "DIs rel. for Checks" so i check only this one.
This set up is not "the best practise" from my point of view
As i have no clue regarding your used "route" and other master data.. i can not judge about your set up

As any SAP set up is "company specific" (especially in the DG area): no real help is possible without the full knowledge of your set up.
We have many experienced companies (IT companies) willing to help you.
As the DG part i a "bigger" story (becuase of many reasons): you should think to onboard an external consultant as even if you will solve this topic: the next DG related issue will come up easily

Hello
as i have tried to explain in a parallel thread/discussion: you need an experienced EHS consultant to go on. I assume you know the "Best Practise" set up ?
Any how:
topic 1.: as i ave no clue about your set up: the "dg profile" "001" might be the wrong one
topic 2.: I believe you can start with this "DG master". Any thing else will come up (may be) later as an issue
topic 3: According to my knowledge; this set up is not complete (DG Check activation) => please check Best PRactise; online help and other sources of information
topic 4: you aer usigin "Dg standard checks". As a starting point ok
Topic 5: you should check any documentation here and may be you need to improve
topic 6: I assume that the DG checks etc have not been executed as your set up is not complete
PLease check as well the topic of:
- "Route"
- Assignment of "transport mode" to the "regulation" etc.
- DG Regulation (here ADR)
DG topic are rarely discussed here. So it seems to be that most of the EHS consultant know the DG process "by heart" and the corresponding customizng etc. set up
C.B.
PS: only some links (only examples; there is more to find) of DG discussions; most of them are not realy of interest here but could be helpful for the future
In 2020 there is very low dicussion in area of DG (same in 2021)

Hello Christoph!
I really appreciate your answers! And thank you!
Yes you tried to explain me that i need an experienced EHS consultant, but here in our Country is this almost impossible. Even companies which are our support in SAP they didn't touch EHS as well. So yes, I need someone to bring me to right directions.
Anyway:
1. My set up for DG is 001, because of "Relevant for DG, checks and documents.
3. hmmm...i read that if i want to check only materials which are in the Sales order, then i must to check only "DIs rel. for Checks" so i check only this one.
5. I didn't specify any "Usage profiles for DG Check Methods" because of:
"No usage profile is required for the check method with the function module HAZMAT_CHK_VARIOUS . If you specify a usage profile for this check method, the system will ignore it."
6. So you think that the error can be in "DG Check Schemas"?
Regards!

Tnanks again!
I tried almost everything...
Is it possible that i cannot CHECK DG because of disabled PLM?
(when i want to Define Modes of Transport i get an error: EHS is not activated; Message no. CB01203)

Hello
regarding:
You have two options. Either you maintain the data direct ( I believe this is the option you have used) or you maintain the data "indirect" (by using REAL_SUB etc. etc.)
ok. So direct you mean to maintain data with phrases? Because i have Phrases and Phrase sets filled and connected. I don't have any data in Workbench.
Yes your understanding is correct. You maintain the "DG" data direct (per material / regulation). This is not the "Best Practise" but possible. This option has many cons (you will see that if you go on using this option). You must handle the whole phrase process by your own (with ALL the needed translations.. and for ADR.. these are MANY!!! texts to handle).
Your "ADR" report is "quite" common.
Once again let us check your situation
a.) You have DG data per material (e.g. for ADR)
b.) But your SAP SD / EHS DG integration "fails" so that the process is not able to start the DG process (reason is unknown). If the process would run the process would detect if "ADR regulation" is applicable (in reference to the data as entered in the sales order etc.).
Now it depends on your "real" needs... As you have ADR DG data... may be you need not to check for ADR but just "print" (so even if ADR is not applicable you can print).. In this case you can just go on. Only if you would like to refine the process so that "ADR data" is only printed if applicable.. then you have to go on
I am sorry to say: the Best Practise Document is a good starting point. But you need to understand (on the top) very "deep" the "transport regulation" the "countries" involved and how the ADR regulation is detected to be applicable (and the story is very lengthy to write down)
As e.g. any "route" (any SAP SD story as such) story is 100% company specific we can not help further.
You need to understand terms like "prelag", "mainleg" etc. (which are used here in DG context very ofter as well).
the Online SAP docu is not that bad.. and the "customizing infos are helpful as well. In combination with the "Best Practise" you might succeed.
BUT as i have tried to explain... even under some conditions it will not work.. (please refer to the many threads).
So it was documented that after a Relase Update/Upgrade the user get in trouble here and the process did not work anymore.
You need to understand the "substeps" in the process
So e.g. may be read: https://help.sap.com/viewer/2fd59f821b7d4ecd9b93fc0441b8c95e/1909.000/en-US/f4eaba538c95b54ce1000000...
https://help.sap.com/viewer/2fd59f821b7d4ecd9b93fc0441b8c95e/1909.000/en-US/4d91eb81c94c40a9e1000000... (and any subchapter) discuss the "Check" part
https://help.sap.com/viewer/2fd59f821b7d4ecd9b93fc0441b8c95e/1909.000/en-US/9227bf53d25ab64ce1000000... (and any subchpater) discuss the "output" part (print DG data e.g. on a delivery note)
You can activate the check on sales level (https://help.sap.com/viewer/2fd59f821b7d4ecd9b93fc0441b8c95e/1909.000/en-US/4d91eb32c94c40a9e10000000a15822b.html)
delivery level https://help.sap.com/viewer/2fd59f821b7d4ecd9b93fc0441b8c95e/1909.000/en-US/4d909b2a9ec314b0e1000000...
on transport level
Any of these steps have a "different" challenge.
I assume this was yet done by you? (this is an extract of SAP help)
"You activate dangerous goods checks in the activity Activate Dangerous Goods Checks in Customizing for Dangerous Goods Management. In the activity Assign DG Check Schemas for Shipping Documents, you specify the context in which a check schema is to be used."
May be by getting in touch with an "ABAPer" (and using a debug session) you can "see" if DG was "activated" correct or not (and if not: there does the process stop)
C.B.
PS: This FORUm is not intended to provide a "step by step" process; it can only guide somehow
PPS: pages as https://slideplayer.com/slide/1713160/ or https://slideplayer.org/slide/202913/ or https://sap.sd/dangerous-goods-management

E.g. may be this thread might help on top: https://answers.sap.com/questions/3101607/dangerous-goods.html

Dear Blaz
we can in my opinion not really help you. The DG Master data you are showing seems to be ok. As we have no clue of your other DG Set up... (and anything around) no help is possible (Related as well to SAP SD process)
E.g.
https://answers.sap.com/questions/13420383/no-dangerous-goods-master-record-found-dg450.html
is showing "similar" problems; but here the DG Check was executed (but still showing issues)
Regarding:
Is it necessary to have filled DG Workbench (real substance, DG classification, UN list)?
You have two options. Either you maintain the data direct ( I believe this is the option you have used) or you maintain the data "indirect" (by using REAL_SUB etc. etc.)
According to your topic below: You have created a sales order and saved it. If the process was "successful" you should be able to retrieve the "log" (which DG check was executed etc.); e.g. check as well "incompletion log".
My story is "simple" (but complex as well)
You have a starting point (Sales organisation, plant / Stroage location, material number; ship to partner etc.) are important and you have selected a "route" in your sales order.
One part of the story is the "route". Let us imagine this
Your plant is located in France. The ship to partner is located in Belgium. Now in the SAP SD process somehow the "route" is determined. The route defines the "transport modes" to consider.
A route can have a "huge" complexity (e.g. as an idea check here: https://www.saptutorials.in/route-determination/)
To make it simple: The route is defined to use "truck" as the transport mode. Now as We have a plant located in FR and a SHIP to located in BE: the corresponding transport regulation to be considered is the "ADR" one.
If SAP SD process is working perfect togetehr with SAP EHS DG process you are able to check:
1.) is the material allowed ot be transported by truck (based on the conditions (ADR)
2.) You can perform on the to so called (later) "load together" rules (an dmany other DG related stuff)
3.) Now your SAP SD set up must fit the SAP EHS DG set up (topic of sales order type etc.)
etc. etc.
This FORUM has shown taht e.g. after SAP Upgrade/Update process the one "menue" option (your are refring to) is not working
In a nutshell: If you have an "ABAP Consultant" you can do a "debug" session to identify the SAP SD / EHS DG prcoess integration (was is done "correct"; what might be missing etc.)
C.B.
PS: may be this blog might help:
https://blogs.sap.com/2016/01/08/best-practices-for-chemicals-included-sap-ehs-configuration-guide/
HEre you will find the "Best practise" set up
But you should check SAP online help to find the most current "Best Practise" version
PPS: DG set is much more complex ! PLease check SAP online help
E.g. check here: https://help.sap.com/viewer/47b7039ad8c44808aafbedb12029db94/6.18.13/en-US/c827bf53d25ab64ce10000000...

Dear Christoph!
Thank you again for helping me!
which set up do you need to have better picture? I'll make pictures..no problem...
First link you sent me had issues with transporting/shipping (i guess).
This is main goal for me:
I would like to have this data in separate report.
UN CODE - I fill it in DGM -> DG Master -> ID.nr.
DESCRIPTION - from Phrase text
RISK CLASS - I fill it in DGM -> DG Master -> Class
PACKING GROUP - I fill it in DGM -> DG Master -> Pack. Grp.
TUNNEL CODE - Transport approval -> Transport type
QTY - would like to acquire from Sales Order
PACKAGING - same like QTY
TOTAL - QTY * PACKAGING = total (in kg)
POINTS - PACKING GROUP * TOTAL = points (you have to follow the rule of 1000 points)
But first from my opinion i must to CHECK DG? before do this report
All your links are OK and good to understanding logic, but they don't fit my challenge...
Regards!
B.C.
PS: the link for best practise doesn't work for me...
