EH&S Activation in SAP Menu Logistics

Hi,

I am not able to see the folder EH&S in the Home Page at SAP Menu ==> Logistics. Even in the SPRO settings I am not able to find the entry. Is there any ways of Activating this in SAP.

Pls. activate EA-PLM (PLM extension) under Enterprise extension in IMG activity :Activate Business Functions ( Tcode :SFW5)

As an add on to what has been explained:

a.) there is no way "back" (you can not switch off after you have activated EH&S)

b.) you should read carefully any OSS (in the area of the OSS types "consulting" or "recommendations"and you should have read the corresponding EH&S installation OSS notes etc. to get an impression what is done next after activation; there are standard "best practise" docus available (e.g. the topic Unicode or not Unicode might be of interest).

Activation of EH&S will give you the chance to take a look into the "SAP" Standard (that means some customizing is delivered). In most cases this customizing need ot be reviewed in nearly any EH&S submodule (depending on the demands of the customer) to create a customer specific one (customizing). Furthermore if you would like to use EH&S you need to do some crosschecks with other SAP modules like DMS

If you are using higher releases (ERP 2005) and if you have installed yet "Enhancement PAckages"::

With Enhancement Package 3 and 5 (which will be in ramp up soon) new EH&S functionalities will be delivered too. Please refer to SAP docu how to activate an Enhancementpackage regarding EH&S.

Here the same is true as before: there is no way back from activating of the Enhancement Package. Some "rumors" exists that with higher SAP version a change of this behaviour is planned. That means you could "deactivate" the Enhancement Package.

Hi,

Can you please tell me whether the EA_PLM activation has to be done in each client or is tranported between clients?

And one further question: I have activated the extension, and I´m able to see EHS customizing activities... However, it is still nota appearing in the SAP logistics standard menu. Any ideas??

Hello Irene,

EA_PLM activation is cross client. Once activated on server, then it is available on all the clients of that server.

Regarding EHS not available in Logistics menu, are you using User menu or SAP menu? If you are not having authorisation of EHS tcodes, you will not be able to see EHS node under logistics in User menu, but in SAP menu you will be able to see EHS node under logistics even if you do not have authorizations for EHS tcodes.

Thanks a lot for your answer.

I am not using user menu, it´s S000 menu... and I don´t think the problem is related to authorizations, since I am able to enter EHS transactions if I write them directly.

I thought once I activated EA-PLM, this would appear in the menu, but not... is there anything else to do?

I remember in other systems, i just activated the extension and that was all.

Hello Irene,

Yes, once you activate EA_PLM, you are done.

I think there must be some system specific settings which your basis person should be able to resolve.

By the way,

Have you checked the HR node? OH and IHS nodes of EHS appears under HR node also in SAP manu.
