ECTR Config document not being read while ECTR launch

Hi,

I setup ECTR in Sandbox with some configurations. I then copied the ZIP file from Sandbox and created a new AUX file in Dev system to load this Config.

When launching ECTR for Dev, I get the error "There is no configuration document in the SAP system matching your version".

I have created the DIR as ECTR_CONF_5.2.1.0 since we are using the latest version of ECTR.

The ECTR config folders are in Program files which I cannot edit. When I launch ECTR, a new folder is created under user/appdata/ECTR. I read that I need to change the attribute "PLM_USE_SAPCONFIG" in PLM_initialize.bat to "True". In which path does this need to be done?

Is my approach correct or am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi,

The older issue which I had because of the Version mismatch is cleared, but have the same issue for same versions too.

Both my systems D and Q are in the same version of ECTR and SAP. I have ECTR Front end and add on to Solidworks installed which is working fine for Dev. Now, I have made changes to settings for Dev and want to copy the same to Q and further to P too.

Waldemar: I cannot use the backend config in the installer now since all installation is done. You mentioned that it is just not the ZIP file (DIR type AUX) but other things too.

My question now is: how do I move the config through the landscape?

Thanks,

Prashanth

Hello Waldemar,

Thanks for the info. I got to understand that this issue is because of the mismatch in version of ECTR. Our Sandbox system was having the older version of ECTR and thus this ZIP was not being read.

I have made appropriate changes to the Dev config for the process execution.

Thanks,

Prashanth

Hello Prashanth,

there must be option like "backendConfig" in the Installer of the ECTR, the Installer will create an ECTR installation which is setup in this way so you don't have to manually change something in the installation under "Program Files".

So direct answer to your question is "yes, the switch must be set in initial installation path, but you shouldn't need to do it itself, it mean to be done by installer".

btw, the configuration document must be created by ECTR using the admin functions, it is little bit more then just one DIR with one zip file 🙂

this will create/update correct configuration DIS.

PS. i read it now, you are getting the message about non existing config document, so you already have an installation with backendConfig configuerd, all you have to do is to execute the function from screenshot above.

With kind regards,

Waldemar

Hello Gerhard,

I have gone through the document twice :)... Still facing the issue.

The document states to set "PLM_USE_SAPCONFIG" as true. My question is: Do I do this in the initial installation path for ECTR (i.e under program files)? If yes, I will need to get the admin rights.

The AUX DIR is also created with the correct naming convention. Snapshots attached...
