My compnay recently had an audit, and a recommendation from the auditors was to have shipping labels printed automatically when the required number of parts have been packaged. In our particular case, the produt comes from a modling machine and to a conveyor. An employee inspects the part and packs it into a container. When the required number of parts have been packed, a label is created (by scanning a barcoded production order) and manually affixed to the container. My confusion comes from who do I connect to in order to get this outsourced. Should I find an SAP consultant or a MES consultant? What criteria do I look for when vetting the potential vendors in terms of capability?
