Hi experts,
I'm currently dealing with the requirement of having dynamic DG classifications, meaning that the same material can have different DG classifications depending on the packaging, which is selected at the moment of the shipping...
I have seen that there is the possibility to handle this in the DG module, by creating a new profile for the Material master, in order to identify the materials under this situation. Then, in the Material assignment tab of the specification workbench, you get a new screen where you can assign different DG classifications for the possible packaging codes. However I'm having some problems assigning those, and understanding the whole flow...
Has anyone worked with this dynamic classifications??
Thanks a lot!

hello Irene
we are not using this feature (I assume you know that EnhPack 3 must be activated in EH&S to use the feature) . In any case: if your read cross:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_06/helpdata/en/de/5174db4c4b11d18a110000e816ae6e/frameset.htm
"Process Flow for Dynamic Dangerous Goods Classification"
the process is explained. According to SAP documentation to be used (potentially) if you need to consider DG material of type:
● Class 1 u2013 Explosive substances and articles
● Class 5.2 u2013 Organic peroxides
● Class 7 u2013 Radioactive substances
In contrast to MSDS shipment there seems to be no consulting OSS available on SAP marketplace which you may be could use to get more infos.
I am not sure if really a "high" number of SAP clients is using this new functionality (as it is more complex). So I am sorry: I can not assist you here.
With best regards
C.B.
