Dreamweaver for MII 12.0

I have not been able to find the step by step guide to setting up dreamweaver for MII 12.0. The documentation that I have been able to find seems to be for older versions of dreamweaver and xMII.

Does anyone have an up to date guide for install dreamweaver with the connections with MII 12.0?

Thanks

With 12.0 you will not be able to write directly onto the server using tools like Dreamweaver & Frontpage.

Direct editing of the web content on the server can now be done via the Workbench.

You can still use Dreamweaver & Frontpage but the content will have to be maintained at a different place (either on your local machine or some place on the network). In this scenario you will have to make use of the Publish Assistant which allows you to publish files from a local drive onto the MII server & vice versa.

For more details on the Use & Functionality of the Publish Assistant refer to the 12.0 help.

Hi Skip,

You must download the SAP MII Productivity Wizards from the SDN Downloads. Inside the zip file is a folder entitled "Help" which contains the html help files - in there, you will find directions for installing the tools. There are the standalone tools and also the plug-ins for Dreamweaver and Microsoft Frontpage.

You can develop your pages in FrontPage or Dreamweaver and then use the new "Publish Assistant" to bring them up to the 12.0 server. Everything you need should be in the zip file.

Kind Regards,

You can also simply copy and paste into DreamWeaver, do your editing, then copy and paste back into xMII. Crude, but it does allow you to use the built in tools of DreamWeaver. But the applet generator won't work with 12.0.

Good luck!

I am still confused. Are people using dreamweaver or is there a place in the MI work-bench to do the web-development?

Thanks

Don't know about people but yes it can definitely be used as described in my earlier post.

is there a place in the MII work-bench to do the web-development?

I get there is no applet generator for dreamweaver and 12.0. Does that also mean there is no applet generator for 12.0 in the MII workbench too?

Thanks

There definitely is the applet generator for 12.0.Once you download and install Productivity Wizards on your local machine you get to use the Stand Alone version of

1. Content Generation (this is the applet generator that you refer to I think)

2.Publish Assisatant

3.Script Assistant.

Using the Content Generation you can log in to the MII 12.0 (it asks for credenetials along with the server name every time you fire it up), select the required Query & Display Templates and click on "generate HTML" which copies the content on the clipboard.

As far as your second question - I am not really sure if we can integrate these wizards with the dev tools like FP or Dreamweaver as I haven't tried it, my guess is we probably can , try it , should work.
