DMC Tile Authorization

Hello Experts,

We have created custom POD in DMC, but it is not visible for the other users.

There is no section like pod assignment etc.

How can I make it available for the all users?

Getting an error saying ' Couldn't create a tile for POD <PODName>'. Any possible reasons?

Each user will have to create there own tile unfortunately.

Hello Bünyamin,

At the moment it is not possible to publish a POD Tile to other user’s start page.

For the Shopfloor scenarios, it is good practice to create a shortcut on the operator PC and start this shortcut at system startup. In our projects we try to enable everything an operator needs directly as button links in the POD. We try to avoid the usage of the main page for operators entirely.

Hello @bince ,

Custom PODs can be manually published to the Launchpad for each user individually via POD Designer app, using "Publish" button.

Another option is to use Manage POD Users and Launch PODs apps, see Assigning Users to PODs.

Do you know how I can modify the role templates? Or if I can hide or disable tiles?

I'm making a role collections (ROLE_DM_OPERATOR) and I only have Launchpad_access, plant_access and Production_Operator, but I only need them to display certain tiles.

 

I need only this tiles.

Could you help me with this?

Hi, you can hide/remove tiles from the launchpad by clicking on the user bubble at top right corner and selecting "Edit Homepage".

Hi , you can edit your own personal launchpad as Manoel has described but it is not currently possible to edit another users launchpad. It is on the roadmap to have a more granular authorization and also support SAP Workzone which would give you what you are looking for but at the moment it looking like 2025 (subject to change) for that functionality to appear in the core product. You could also add this onto the customer influence page and the more people that vote for it the higher priority it would be given. Thanks Kevin

Hi,

After SAP Digital Manufacturing 23.05 Release, Manage POD Users and Launch PODs apps were introduced, where you can Assign specific PODs to specific Users and Launch PODs from there, so you might want to consider taking a look into these apps.
