delete specification

Hi,

how can I delete specifications which where "currently used in Reports" ? We have due a SAP carve out from other Company part old data in our main-system (just a handfull datas not as much for special tools ...)

because of the reasons llisted above (refer to screen shot). you can not delete the spec. The topic is discussed several times here.

Because of "Audit" and other reasons: you should not delete the specs.

I suggest to read the last one. You will find some solutions proposals

YOU SHOULD not do it as suggested (manipulate ESTDH); using this approach you will get only a "mess in your system".

It is a good idea (before you start to use EHS) to discuss the "life cycle" of a chemistry and how the IT solution should be designed to support this (e.g. may be use of "Status" on spec level)

You can historize any WWI report (and then if needed archive it); but the other part (refer to screen story) is a "big story" as well

Yes - then first need to delete it from ESTDH Table then you will be able to delete it.

1] SE16 -> ESTDH -> Enter the Specification -> Delete the entries

2] Then again try to delete it

P.S : Again I would like to bring a point there - It is not suggest to delete the specification which is already used in Reporting purpose.

Hello

To delete specification -> CG02 -> Search that specification -> More -> Specification -> Delete. (Shift + F2)

But remember it is not suggest to delete any specification which has been used for generation of report.

I suggest first download that Report and save locally somewhere before deleting the spec. Go to CG50 or CG54 and open that spec for which report is generated and download it. Then delete your specification. Also you need to delete the specification from your table level too once you deleted from CG02

If you worry about the data still beeing visible in your system - I would just follow the proposal here https://answers.sap.com/questions/12711484/handling-specifications-that-are-not-needed-any-mo.html.

If on the other hand - you want to ensure that your data can NOT be seen by any means in the new copied system that is a different story:
Here you would need to manipulated the DB and set deletion flags manually / by program and run the RC1PHDEL and MCDOKDEL programs to physically delete the data on the copy.
To be on the safe side you would need to consider the change document tables (CDHDR, CDPOS. EST_CHANGE_DOCS) as well.

If you don't copy your SAP system this is obviously not an issue.

thanks for quike responce but I try to delete via CG02 but I get error massage (see below)
