Deactivate Codegroups for 1 notification type only

In our QM department we are using the same code groups for different notifications (here Q1 and Q2).

Now we want the users to not be able to use these codegroups anylonger in Q1 notifications but they should still be able to select them in Q2 notifications. Originally I was planning to deactivate the codegroups what is not possible any more.

Do you see any solution here? In customizing I found this possibility what could be a solution if I create the same catalogs in another catalog and then to restrict catalogs... but thats really not what I want to do.

Think your conclusion is the right one.

You can de-activate the codes in a catalog but then they are de-activated for all QN types.

The option to copy the group & codes into another (new) catalog type and adjust the catalog profile for the QN type you want to see less codes.

In our company we had the requirement to only show specific group & codes of a catalog type in a QN type, so we had a small development to show code groups related to the plant in the QN. You could develop something similar to only show some code groups for a QN type (and define groups per QN type).
