Hi experts,
I know that Product Compliance works with Fiori apps and Product Safety and Stewardship works with SAP GUI transactions. In both we have Dangerous Goods Management. Are they similar in business? What are the differences?

Dear all
sorry to say: the situation is slightly different.
Dear James
In S/4 HANA (even in S/4 HANA release 2020) we have a "EHS classic" and a new version of DG.
The "compatibility" aspect is very "special" (I will not discuss here the detail).
In a nutshell:
You should not try to use DG in "Product Compliance" now. As i have tried to explained: the solution is (from my point of view) not "ready" to be used. Earliest with release 2022 we can assume that the overlap (in comparison to old version) is ok. But who knows ?
So you should go on with the use of EHS classic (in S/4 HANA)
Dear Ali
The "concepts" in the new DG version of "Product Compliance" are very different to the old version in SAP EHS classic.
In the new version you have not a "specification" but a "CCI" (chemical compliance info object). PLease check the SAP online help to get an idea regarding the new solution.
Wish you all the very best for 2021

Hello
the questions is
"I know that Product Compliance works with Fiori apps and Product Safety and Stewardship works with SAP GUI transactions. In both we have Dangerous Goods Management. Are they similar in business?:"
The answer is:
Currently: No they are not 100% similar
The "EHS Classic" (Product Safety and Stewardship) can still be used in S/4 HANA; the new "Produc Compliance" is only available with S/4 HANA.
The overlap of EHS DG in EHS classic and the new DG version in Product Compliance is currently on a level so that you can not use really the new version
Status April 2020 was: the new DG version of the Product Compliance solution should be ready (from SAP point of view) 2022; that means we have a good overlap of old capabilities and the new capabilities in Product Compliance.
So the real ansswer might be: Check by your own the current status of overlap.
We can expect that SAP will deliver the content of the "SAP Help" pages soon and then you can really can check the content of S/4 HANA version 2020 and check the "DG" part inside
With S/4 HANA you can use EHS classic in SAP Gui and as a "rendered" version in SAP Fiori; but there is no real profit to use the SAP Fiori variant

k_m_ali,
I think that they separated DGM from the classic EH&S database with S/4HANA as of release 1909. The classic DGM may still work with the classic EH&S database in compatibility mode.

Both are similar Fiori and GUI both are user interfaces, they both access the data from SAP back end. Yes, they are same.

But Product Safety and Stewardship has Basic Data and Tools for data that are used in Dangerous Goods Management as part of that. In product compliance we don't have such things, for example specification and so on. Honestly, I have a problem about using SAP S4HANA for EHS that I explained it in https://answers.sap.com/questions/13158182/ehs-management-in-s4hana-one-premise-1909.html . I would be very grateful if you could answer that.
