Dangerous Goods in Transportation Management

Hello,

I have a requirement from my client to create DG forms (IATA, IMDG,…) directly from the system in order to reduce manual intervention.

I know the document will be printed from the delivery note (RVDELNOTE), but we have Transportation Management (TM) integrating with Dangerous Goods. So basically they are the last step in the process. Has anyone done this so far?

Normally TM plays the role of a receiver, meaning they only retrieve data from the system, but they do replicate certain data to the delivery note. How will this be sent back to ECC? (TM is WebDynpro and Business Objects based)

How do I know when the DG form is ready for printing? Can it be automatically triggered by TM, or … ?

Also, how do I specify which DG text patterns to use?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Dear Tim

some answers to your question depends on the SAP Landscape you use. I interpret you landcape as:

1.) you use one SAP ERP system

2.) you use one SAP TM system (with current release)

3.) you have connected SAP ERP and SAP TM system based on SAP approach

Therefore. you are right: SAP ERP documents are"replicated" (to my knowledge) to SAP TM; SAP TM passes back some data if needed) data to SAP ERP. The technology to do so is here not of interest.

Coming back to SAP EHS topics. Even if you create a SAP TM system people have trouble in understanding the "software aspect". Honestly we are not using SAP TM. BUt to my knowledge the story is like: on SAP TM you must use EHS (the software component) and prepare basic EHS customizing. SAP ERP system will use ALE to distribute data to SAP TM. This data  includes:

a.) phrases

b.) dangerous goods data master

But you can use SAP TM as well without integration to SAP ERP (from DG point of view; check documents below).

On SAP TM side you can integrate the DG checks and you can use the SAP DG data to be printed on documents (using according to my knowldege the same approach as with SAP ERP (may be now Adobe Forms are used).
