Hi,
How do you create an agent type in RISK ASSESSMENT.
We wanted to add a couple of more agents under:
SAP Menu>> T-CODE "SPRO">>SAP EHS Management>>Risk Assessment>> Hazard and Control Register>>Configure Hazard Categories>> Specify Hazard Categories.
The current list shows Physical and Chemical Agents only. There is a module called Agents under:
SAP Menu>> T-CODE "SPRO">>SAP EHS Management>>Risk Assessment>>Master Data Management>> Agents but there is no option to configure/add an Agent type here
How do you add a couple of more to this list?

Rohit

Hi Raphael,
Thank you for the input it is very helpful. But I am looking forward to identify the Biological Agent as one of the hazards. Apart from physical, chemical and no agent.
Biological agent that can cause an epidemic in a construction company like yellow fever. During commissioning phase of a unit. (This is a hypothetical example)
So in this case, what agent should be assigned to the hazard?

Rohit

Hello Rohit,
In Risk Assessment you assign agents mainly to support exposure analysis as a method for analysing the risk level and track exposures of employees. Agents carry exposure limits which you compare to measured or
extrapolated exposures at workplaces.
I believe a Exposure analysis is usually not done in the mentioned scenario, since Biological agents are usually not measured, you should use 'no agents' for this Hazard class.
I have searched in many places and haven't found any evidence that this configuration can be adapted.
Also don't think that makes sense to 'measure' a Biogical Risk and compare it with threshold limits.
Best regards,
Raphael
I agree with Raphael. The biological hazards should be handled as hazard types in the hazard hierarchy. So hazard type = biological and hazard = yellow fever virus. If you do measure exposures quantitatively, then use physical agent. The name physical agent may be misleading, but think of it as non-chemical agents.
Dear Rohit,
The definition for 'agent' itself clear points that those are the only options available:
Agent
A chemical agent or physical agent that can cause harmful effects in an exposed person.
I am not sure why are you expecting to create a custom agent type in this scenario since
physical agents (such as noise) and chemical agents (such as acetone) would be enough to cover all
related information.
It's also described in the field help the following:
Agents
Specifies whether hazards assigned to the hazard category can involve chemical agents,
physical agents, or no agents at all.
There's no function to assign any other type in this scenario.
I believe you may also check the following documentation :

Raphael
