cProjects Dashboard - Global View

Hi Experts,

In Project Dashboard, is it possible to create Default Layout for all the Team Members.

For example, if i maintained one layout for Project Dashboard, i want to assign the same layout to other users also.

If i created any project elements in Dashboard, it should appear to all the users by default.

Do we need to do any configuration in our Backend ECC 6.0 system.

Please suggest.

Thanks in Advance,

regards,

Sridhar.

Hi Sridhar,

Long time since you posted this question. Hope you got it solved.

We are now facing the same problem.

We are using transaction PFCG to modify dashboard layout for a specific role:

We get to modify it. And, if it's done via customizing, I save changes on a customizing request order.

But, when other users access this dashboard they do not get to see the chancges I have made.

I've also tried via personalization in this same tcode (PFCG), but it doesn't seem to be working.

I read that by adding &sap-config-mode=x to the end of the address we can open the application in administration mode, but not sure if that is the right option.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

you can e.g. assign the role as the reponsible role for the project definition. Afterwards, all assigned

resources should see the project under "Projects".

Hi Florian,

We assigned the role as the responsible role for the project definition. Still the users are not able to see the Project under Project View.

Please suggest.

Hello Sridhar,

There are several prerequisites for the project dashboard. All users must have their sap user ID in their BP and the resource must be responsible or staffed and the project must be released.

The easiest way for everyone to see all the projects is by staffing all users in the template so everyone sees all the projects, but this is, of course, only feasible for a moderate number of users.

Hi,

as per the documentation:

Tab Page: Information Displayed:

Projects Projects view: All projects which contain projects or

project elements to which you are assigned by means

of a role.

This means that a users sees on those projects under tab "Projects" to which he is is assigned by means ogf a role.

If you want all users to see a project, you have to go to the project, craete a role and assign all users (as resources)

to that role.

Kind regards,

Florian

Hi Florian,

We created a Project Role from a Project and assigned the users to the Project Role as Resources (Staff).

Still we are not able to see that Project to that user in any of the Views (Projects, Favorites, LastUsedProjects and Substitutes).

Please suggest do we need to do any other settings.

Thanks & Regards,

Sridhar.

Hi,

> For example, if i maintained one layout for Project Dashboard, i want to assign the same layout to other users also.

It depends on what exactly you want to do. In case you want to define a new view in the ALV of a dashboard (like [Standard View]), call the application with URL parameter &sap-config-mode=X and then goto "Settings" of the ALV and define your ALV view. Then choose "Save As" and set "Assignment: All" to set it for all users (maybe also flag "Initial View" if it should be the default view for all users).

> If i created any project elements in Dashboard, it should appear to all the users by default.

See the Dashboard documentation:

This means you need to assign all users which should see a project in their "Projects" dashboard to a role within that project.

Kind regards,

Florian

Hi Florian,

Thanks for your response. Now we are able to set up a common layout with your inputs.

But we are not able to display all the projects to all the users by default.

We gone through the links which you provided but not able to figure out any thing specific.

Is their any specifications to show my project to all the users. Any role authorizations do we need to perform.

We are not understood your comments: "This means you need to assign all users which should see a project in their "Projects" dashboard to a role within that project."

Please suggest.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sridhar,

Dashboard display is totally User specific. user has to create his own views and will be able to see those elements defined in his views.

But still you can control the disaply of certain tab pages using the IMG activity "Define initial views for cProejcts" for different Roles.
