Hi Experts,
I have worked and implemented Resource planning process in both PS and PPM.
In PPM, the resource planning/management via cProjects is extensively used but not user friendly.
Whereas, the resource planning/management is bit user friendly but not extensively used in PS. There are so many gaps in resource planning in SAP PS
E.g. in PS, the various resources (with different roles) can be assigned to a single activity using activity elements only. The same process in PPM is implemented using roles.
I am not sure, can we plan and assign resource in CPM also?
What about resource planning/management in MRS?
Out of CPM/PPM-cProjects/MRS/PS, which module is perfect for a user friendly as well as extensive using of Resource planning/management?
Regards,
Request clarification before answering.
In PS on a Cost Planning Activity (PS03) you can use Unit Costing to plan multiple Activity Types, Materials, etc. on a single activity.
Also, doing the planning in CPM is much more flexible, where you can plan all kinds of resources on a single PS object.

MRS is by far the most robust solution for Resource Planning.
What is your end requirement fro resource planning?
In PS with Workforce Planning you can assign multiple resources to a single network activity.

Thanks Ken.
I need to start working on a new assignment soon which includes PS, PPM and CPM implementation.
Therefore, I thought to clarify my doubts as that situation may surely arise in context to Resource planning.
I am aware that we can assign multiple resources to a single network activity but those resources will link to only one activity type e.g. Junior Engineer. A senior engineer cannot be assigned to same activity.
A user need to create multiple activity elements under one activity corresponding to different roles and then assign resource accordingly.
