Hi All,

We are interested in exploring the possibility of implementing SAP CPM for our client, we understand it's a add on to ECC, question is does it need additional licenses or since it's an add-on there are no separate licensing involved.

If someone has any idea and can help, we will be obliged

regards

Anmol

Hello Anmol,

Yes, additional licences are required for CPM. But it is always recommended to contact the Accounts manager from SAP for better understanding.

Hi Dhanesh,

It is a separate license for SAP CPM solution. Also you need to be aware of that the analytics reports and fact sheets in CPM will not work  ( performance wise) unless you have HANA in the backend.

Hope it provides you the inputs..

Hi sammar,

we understand the analytics piece, just one question for license, if we can add the product to our basket and download it, does it mean that we have licenses or it could still be that SAP is allowing us to download the product but will check for licenses while installing, my understanding was if you can download a product you have the licenses for it, is it not true.

Many thanks for your response

Hello Anmol,

As per my knowledge, you can download & use the product in your test clients but not in productive client. Licenses are considered when the product is used for productive business operations. Once again, I would suggest you to cross check with the SAP accounts manager.

Hi Dhanesh,

Not necessarily.. better check with your Accounts manager & sales team.. Licensing is a different ball game..
