Commercial Project Management with ECC and S4

Dear Experts,

Can we connect CPM with ECC and S4 system at the same time.

We have a scenario where we will have PS Projects in ECC and also in S4 . The Client wants to see all information under one Commercial Project in SAP CPM.

Is it possible? What kind of configurations are required?

Yes, It's possible. Yo have to read the SAP Note 2537778. The integration of the SAP EPPM S / 4HANA solution with other SAP systems, such as SAP ERP ECC, is 100% compatible (Note 2537778), because it uses the connection through its logical systems (transaction SM59), which provide connection via RFC, to Obtain information from the Logistics and Financial modules of the ERP system.

Current scenario is:

- Country - A: S/4HANA System

- Country - B: ECC System

I know we can see and evaluate multiple projects and objects under one commercial/ Master projects. Can't we have different ERP Projects under one CPM projects?

Hello Ken;

It's correct. You can add multiple PS Project into a Project Master and also, with the objectslinks, you can connect with diferents SAP Systems. Talk with you Basis consultant partner.

The latest CPM version comes already embedded in S/4HANA, previously it was installed on the ABAP stack in ECC systems. CPM is an add-on to an ERP system. Linking it to 2 different ERP systems is definitely not standard. I won't say it can't be done but it's not standard configuration.
