Hi All,
I am facing a vague issue regarding WWI.
There is a Test SAP system available in our organization and I was trying to create a WWI report in this system (for the first time).
What I observed was that all the symbols which have AKey parameter (in IMG activity Check and Specify Report Symbols) maintained as
Class at characteristic level, the symbols were not expanded i.e. values were not output on the report.
Whereas for symbols which have AKey parameter maintained as Table the symbols were expanded i.e. the values were output on the report.
I have cross checked the the spec status, the Usage of the Value assignment instances and those on the Gen. Variant etc.. Everything seems fine.
Values of Descriptor symbols are also appearing fine in the report.
What could be the reason for this?
Could there have been an issue with the installation of the WWI server?

Neeraj

Dear Neeraj,
Please use the tcode CGCZ to update all teh characteristics and new symbols which you have created to populate in the report. Place checkmark on all the attributes and execute the transaction. After u do this, Logout of SAP and relogin. There is a chance that your wwi might have not updated the data. Check the template again and test it.Might show the required results.

Dear Neeraj,
The characterisitcs and the symbols created are available in the system.i.e in txn CGAB. However, this data must be updated in wwi as a report template must contain the symbols which are activated. This function(master data matchup) activates all fields that are available for technically assigning phrase sets, enables you to automatically generate symbols for each characteristic, table field, and structure field, updates the symbol definitions for characteristic symbols that have been changed.
Hence it is required to perform CGCZ when there is any changes/creation made to the symbol/characteristics/phrases.

Hi Neeraj,
Would like to check , have you done the MASTER DATA MATCH UP in your Test SAP system ?
Thanks

Thank you all for replying.
@ John : As I have mentioned earlier, the Rating/Val. Area is identical in the value assignment instance and the Gen Variant.
I don't think that is an issue here.
@ Pugazhenthi : In IMG activity Check and Specify Report Symbols the foll settings are maintained for symbols for which no output is generated:-

Please also check your generation variant, and make sure you have maintained, rating/validity area and application object there. Sometimes rating will be missed in the genvar setup.
Hope this can help you.

Check the report symbol setting, if it phrase or characteristics based? When you expand the report symbols you need to use a right method for based on the report symbol type.

Hi Balajee,
Thanks for your reply.
I have gone through the discussion, but the issue in that case seemed to be of the Usage.
In my case, I am using Public/Reg_World in the value assignment as well as in the Gen. variant (and the usage is active as well).
I don't think that's the reason in my case.
Can you think of anything else that might contribute in the values not being output on the report?
