Hello experts!
I want to assign a characteristic to a DIR.
The assignmet of Doctype/Class/Characteristic ist set and available, as can be seen in the screenshot below in GUI.
My Problem: The characteristic values are not shown in S4ECTR and therefore cannot be assigned to the DIR.
When changing the DIR with GUI, I can assign and change the characteristic.:
But still can't change it with ECTR, I get "service manual" kind of pre-set in the "Characteristic values change window", but I'm not able to select something . Column "name" is empty, also.
When I try to change the value manually, e.g. to "PD"( which is existent in GUI!) I get the message that "PD is not in the list of values for that characteristic...
Are there any known issues with S4 / S$ ECTR and characteristics?
I use/evaluate the very recent versions:
I've done this many, many times before in the "old" ECC6.0 ? Just wantet to know, before i open an issue.
Many thanks in advance,
Martin
Hello,
In the meantime we found out, that there were several corrections for "classification" in
SP03 of S4ECTR 1.1. Solved issues as can be seen in note 2779488.
One of them solved our problem with characteristics with value lists.
Interestingly, it worked already when we updated just the back end components. So it seems that it was not an issue with the front end.
Best regards,
Martin

Hello Martin,
regarding your statement :"So I'm wondering, that there no statements or recommendations from SAP for any kind of virtual environment for ECTR."
Well, we are using ECTR and CAD Integrations in a WTS environment since the very first release without any problems. However, we cannot commit this, as not not all CAD systems run in such an environment or are not certified.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Gerhard

Hello Gerhard,
great to "hear" from you! Also, that in general it should work an there are no known issues.
Unfortunately I do not see anything helpful in the logfiles so far, but I'll keep digging.
For instance I find something like that in the debug file:
====== OMF =========================================================== > cadagent.gui.obr.omf.OmfDispatch Validating display content... ... content is invalid! Could not find value 'SM' in list of values for characteristic 'Sub type D10(ZP_DMS_D10_SUBTYPE)'. < cadagent.gui.obr.omf.OmfDispatch, duration: 3775 ms ======================================================================
But in "apilogs"- I can see those values, something like:
[...]
ZP_DMS_D10_SUBTYPE | PD | | | | | | | 0001 | 0000 | | Burn-in test specification | 1 | | ZP_DMS_D10_SUBTYPE | SY | | | | | | | 0002 | 0000 | | SYS test specification | 1 | | ZP_DMS_D10_SUBTYPE | PH | | | | | | | 0003 | 0000 | | High potential test spec | 1 | | ZP_DMS_D10_SUBTYPE | SM | | | | | | | 0004 | 0000 | | Service Manual | 1 |
[...]
I was wondering if this could happen, because we have defined English as our default language for us and the class hasn't had a German description so far.
I'll try to create and a new characteristic an assign them in German.
When I don't get to a solution, we'll just open an issue with our partner.
Thanks a lot for the very fast respone!
regards,
Martin

Hello Martin,
I have just tested to assign a class and characteristics (including value list). All worked fine with the latest version.
Are there any hints in the log files?

Gerhard

Hello Gerhard,
Just as additional information :
We are currently using / testing ECTR
at a remote desktop server. We know/found out, that WIN 2016 Server is
not an official supported OS, which is running there. So this might be
an issue.
In the future we want to run ECTR in at least two different "real" virtual CITRIX-based environments, even with CAD Interfaces. This kind of setup becomes more and more common. So I'm wondering, that there no statements or recommendations from SAP for any kind of virtual environment for ECTR.
