Can we have different number range for different Incident group with in Incident of EHSM - IM

Hello

There is a requirement to give different number range for different incident group of the incident to understand the type of incident from the initial page. Is it possible? I have not find anywhere to give different number range though.

Hi Partha,

technically it is possible to have an external number assignment for the Incident ID in the component extension. It can be achieved by an extension to the incident business object by creating a new determination.

Nonetheless I would strongly discourage from implementing such a solution. Incident Management is capable of assigning multiple incident groups to a single incident, e.g. an oil spill where someone got injured due to the leakage are tracked single case. This would mean that two groups are assigned: release and injury. The group assignment may even change during the investigation.

Additionally an incident may change to a near miss, whereas the the number range getting pulled may not be valid anymore.
