Hi,
I have a scenario where I will be getting phrase information from an external system in the form of XML or CSV. Is it possible to upload these phrases using CG3Y.
If it is not possible are there any work arounds
Please help

HI,
For uploading the data into SAP EHS - the "import phrases" transaction is used. The required file format for that is *.dat.
SAP has provided a free tool called EHS Open Content Connector to convert data into *.dat format for uploading.
XML format can not be converted using the existing tools, you may need to write a simple macro to convert that to CSV format and use that to convert to dat for uploading.
Thanks and Regards

Similarly XML to Dat or XML to CSV depends on your convenience. CSV is easy in identifying the tags and creating a new file, whereas dat structure you need to refer the Phrase Structure which is available in SAP Help documentation around Basic Data tools.
Hello
to summerize: use of "dat" file is required or use of a format which can be used on context with OCC
The use of "dat" file in reference with phrases is discussed not very often here. The same is true for use of "OCC" to do the load.
It seems to be that anybody knows quite well the process and just "do it".
As with "specification" load: you can list a huge number of topics which can go wrong... So without any experience in using "dat" file or OCC option: Don'T try to start the import. You will not suceed.
Phrase upload via "dat" file is describe in online help; use of OCC is discussed often here (but only for specification upload). I am not aware of a discussion in context of "phrases upload"

PS: in theory there is another option: do the import using "ALE". Nether have get in touch with sombody who has used this option !
