Can you please check in Configuration, whether Valuation Rule A5 -- Char. valuation for inspection in PM Exists or not.Node Basic data -- Sampling, SPC -- Define Valuation Mode.

I had a very similar problem while trying to perform results recording for physical samples. There was some missing customizing in:

Quality management -> Quality Planning -> Basic data -> Sampling, SPC -> Define valuation -> Define valuation rules (V_QDFM)

Did that and successfully performed results recording for physical samples.
