Hello PPM Experts,
I have a cProject created and having 'Transferred' & 'Assigned' status. I.e. the Accounting Structure (with PS Project/WBS elements) for this cproject is created successfully. The Costing data in the accounting tab is also appearing correctly.
However, when I create a 'simulation' for this project, system creates it successfully but with messages " Internal error: Calling costing leads to
exception" and "Costing data may not be up to date".
The 'Accounting' tab of the Simulation do not show anything (i.e. blank tab).
Appreciate if you can try this scenario at your end and share yhr results or provide some inputs to resolve this issue.
Thank you.

Hi,
Please check whether you have defined adhoc costing scenario in controlling settings. I believe this should solve the issue

Yeah,
That is the reason you are able to see costing with your operative projects and not with simulations. Can you do simple check without assigning / creating WBS to your project. Whether cProjects is doing costing. I am sure not and this is the reason you need to have advoc costing scenario. This will facilitate you doing costing for simulations also.
Please try this scenario, I am sure it will solve your problem

Hi Pramod,
As
you have suggested, I did the check without assigning / creating WBS to the
project and clicking 'calculate' button in the 'accounting' tab of the project.
However, I get the same error (i.e. "Internal error: Calling costing leads to exception"). In
the following 'help' page, http://help.sap.com/saphelp_ppm50/helpdata/en/4b/1f37e474422594e10000000a42189b/content.htm
the ‘Activities’ section talks about “Ad Hoc Cost Estimate” button. However, I
do not see such button/screen area. I
only see ‘calculate’ & ‘Costing’ buttons in ‘Accounting’ tab of the project.
Hence I guess I
am definitely missing something here.
In the IMG node "Settings for Easy Cost
Planning" I have assigned 'PS06' as 'Costing Variant' but no 'costing
model' is assigned. Is assigning 'costing model' mandatory in this IMG node for
Ad Hoc cost estimate to work? If yes, will you please tell me, for the 'bare minimum’
costing model (Tx CKCM) to work, what should I put in 'define derivation rules'
step under columns 'Type' & 'Object'?
Appreciate your inputs so
far. Please elaborate further and help me to create the Ad Hoc Planning
successfully.
