Basic info about cProjects/cFolders

Hi guru?s,

I have a basic doubt regarding cProjects and cFolders. Please help me in resolving the following issues:

1. cProjects and cFolders are useful in managing product development activities, at what stage we are going to transfer objects data from cProject/cFolders to SAP ERP?

2. Is there any why can we convert/export objects like documents, material, BOM and other data into SAP ERP during development stage?

3. How to manage Engineering Change Management (ECM) in cFolders? How to manage revision levels Without ECN?

4. What is the use of iPPE in cPrjects?

I have the about doubts in my mind. Could anyone help me by explaining above points and if possible please provide me appropriate documents/links for further reading?

Please find the answers below.

1. cProjects and cFolders are useful in managing product development activities, at what stage we are going to transfer objects data from cProject/cFolders to SAP ERP?

Actually in this case there are two scenarios.

i. At the time of bidding, once after knowing about the various components needs to be procured. You can post your specifications documents in cFolders (Competetive Scenario) to get the bids from Suppliers. Later supplier can send their biddings through cFolders itself.

ii. Once after the desgining part is over, Company needs to send their design documents and drawings to the selected supplier through cFolders. Where as manufacturer will send the Quality information documents and spare part structures back to the company.

2. Is there any why can we convert/export objects like documents, material, BOM and other data into SAP ERP during development stage?

You can use the CAD integration to save all your development data into SAP.

3. How to manage Engineering Change Management (ECM) in cFolders? How to manage revision levels Without ECN?

Without ECM you can get the verrsions only. Not revision levels for the objects.

4. What is the use of iPPE in cPrjects?

iPPE can be used for the Early Engineering of any product. Where you can define your concept structure without really creating the BOMs. Once after confirming the concepty you can converrt the Concept BOM into Engineering BOM. As i didnt come across thrrough this requirement, i want to guess like linking the concept BOM created in iPPE as deliverable at any stage of cProjects.

(Answer) when all the steps before final release of the product, it means when ur prototype is finalized and it will go for final production without any bottle neck.

2. Is there any why can we convert/export objects like documents, material, BOM and other data into SAP ERP during development stage?

(Answer) we can export as well import BOM and material from SAP ERP to Cfolder and vice versa. T-code are alreday defined.
