Automatic Batch number assignment for serialized materials in REM

Hello Everyone

I have a scenario where I need to generate automatic batch numbers . The catch is that the materials are already serialized. The type of manufacturing is REM.

When I tried to configure this scenario I receive a standard SAP message saying " Serial numbers with automatic batch numbers not supported"

I wanted to explore more about this error message so I tried playing around and I found that 

 If I change the type of manufacturing to Discrete then this error is not shown. This means that the automatic batch number for serialized materials does work for discrete manufacturing .

I need help finding answers to the below questions

(1) I wonder why SAP didn't allow this scenario for REM ?

(2) What is the solution if I want to configure this scenario in REM. I tried using exits EXIT_SAPLBARM_001,EXIT_SAPLBARM_002,EXIT_SAPLBARM_003, EXIT_SAPLV01Z_001 but I didn't found them to be useful
