Hello,
We currently hold all our Chemical, Formulation and Packaging details within the Substance Database. This is working well, but I need to be able to attached external Word documents to a substance.
Is there any way of doing this? And if so, is there any documentaion anywhere that will show me Technically how to configure this?
Kind Regrads
Franc

Hi Franc,
As of ERP 6.0 Enhancement Package 3, you can import a document directly using the new pushbutton "Import document" on the "User-Defined Texts/Docs" tab page in the specification workbench.
Please visit SAP note # 1458628 for details.
So, please check which ERP and enhancement package releases you are currently working on.

Hi Franc,
It is very much possible in ECC 6 EhP4, Infact you can attach the documents at value assignment level means you can attach n number of documents to one specification. In ecah value assignments, there is tab User-Defined Text, where you can attach external user defined documents through DMS. You need to create the document in DMS and the same can be called in the specification.

Hi Franc,
To attach a document to a sustance, you can use 'Logistics ->Environment, Health & Safety -> Product Safety -> Reports -> Import Vendor MSDS', this process lets assign a file to a substance. To configure it, searchs the following best practices:
