Analysis Method with custom characteristic.

I ask your advice in customizing a property tree ables to measure agent risk with different unit of measure proposed by SAP in standard property tree, in particularly in value assignment SAP_EHS_1023_006.

I need  to compare measured value of a characteristic not standard and the reference value using an analysis method  indicated Meas./Refer. Value (criteria).

I prepared a new characteristic to evaluate with respective unit of measure (°C) and I added this characteristic in a class used by the value assignment type SAP_EHS_1023_006.   Then after I matched up the data in customizing Set-up Table-based Value Asssignment and made available the property tree (standard modified only in the value assingment type SAP_EHS_1023_006) for my specification type. I had a property tree with the assignment type SAP_EHS_1023_006 with new characteristic where I am able to input the reference value with unit of measure °C. The value with its unit of measure (already present in SAP) is editable.

At the same time in customizing I defined “Specify Measurement  Items” assigning the reference value assignment type and referenced ref. Value to SAP_EHS_1023_006 (value assignment type) and new custom characteristic.

I defined the Agent tyep to evaluate in  Customizing Assign Analysis Methods to agent types.

So by transaction CBIH02 I tried to launch analysis method using the measured value, but when I  push on Ref. Value button, the system doesn't read the reference value I entered in the Property Tree. The critieria doesn't work. The reference value entered in my property Tree is not being read.

So I tried to define the fields with new characteristic in customizing area Assign Display Fields to Agent Charactestics, defining in the field Limit_Value a new row for target field LIMIT_VALUE with value assignment type (the same),  the new characteristic (where I added my reference value) and the agent type I want to evaluate.

After this, the system doesn't find the reference value yet.

How can I create my characteristic for my agent risks with reference value non standard SAP and how can the values (of new characteristic) can be readable by analysis method? 

If I use the characteristic SAP_EHS_1023_006_VALUE_NS, it must have necessarily character format (phrase) and this is in constrast with the measure that you can enter in transaction CBIH12 and  used in transaction CBIH02.

If I create a new property tree with custom classes and custom value assignement type and custom characteristic i still have  this proble. Probably I should other fiels in Customizng to make Analysis Method works. May you have any suggestions? Thanks.

find the below path in config -

ENvironment, Heal th & Safety > Industrial Hygiene and Safety > Measure Management > Measurement projects > Assign display fields to agent characteristics

As you specified the new characteristics created and replaced in the class - SAP_EHS_1023_006, with the standard characteristics. the same changes has to be done in the above config. settings.

this is the place to do the field mapping  - field vs. characteristic.

after doing the above changes, run the scenario. probably you will get the positive results.

Thanks for your answer Kamal, but I still have problem with reference value with custom characteristic. When you speak about configuration setting do you mean customizing area, doesn't it?

I explain better the situation. I create the characteristic with unit of measure different from ml, mg o ns of standard property tree. Then I specify the measuremnet items where I assign the tha category of value measured, and I assing from SPRO the criteria of comaprison based on value reference. The I set in the path of spro mentioned by you the LIMIT_VALUE for this agent type, more precisely I assign the characteristic custom in the characteristic field, without renaming the field for value assign type , beacuse I added the characteristic in the class associated to this value assignment type.

But when I run CBIH02 the reference value that I signed in the workbench of specification is not read by the system.

Can it possible that exist other customizng to do?

Hi Michele,

can you check the customizing settings in below path -

Environment, Heal th & Safety > Industrial Hygiene and Safety > Risk Assessment > Analysis methods > Assign Analysis methods to Agent types.

ensure that the agent type you are using, must be maintained under Meas/ Refer. value.
