3D-PDF-Animation, Views button with Acrobat Pro XI not work

Hello Support,

we are working with the Adobe Acrobat Pro XI an SAP VEA8.0 and Autocad2015.

After the last Update from Acrobat IX to XI the animation , views button in the 3D-PDF dont work.

The PDF-Template from 2013(IX) have no problems with the animation and views button. With the 2014(XI) template no function of the button after insert the 3D-Modell with SAP VEA or Deep Exploration.

What say Adobe:

You should download the plug-in from here (though you probably had it preinstalled with the authoring application)

and check any readme files; there, they usually write some compatibility info.

This is a question you should post in the authoring application Forum unless someone here has direct experience with SAP VEA or Deep Exploration.
In general, I'd say that Acrobat 3D functionalities have not changed much from version X to XI but a lot from 9 to X. However, the 3D viewing capabilities should have been unaltered since 8 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpVmVIp5a2w) and the (3D) Acrobat JavaScript API too (http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/js_api_reference.pdf and http://www.adobe.com/content/dam/Adobe/en/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/js_3d_api_reference.pdf). On the other hand, your templates may be originated from LiveCycle Designer which relies on a slightly different JavaScript API from Acrobat's. I am not sure but I think that also the LiveCycle Designer which used to be shipped with Acrobat Pro 9 is mostly compatible with the latest standalone version. Finally, the low-level C++ API which is needed to write Acrobat plug-ins such as your RHTemplateDesigner.api is almost certainly not changed since Acrobat 9.

Adobe stepped away from integration of 3D back with the release of Acrobat X. With today's Acrobat (XI) you'll be wanting the plug-ins provided by 3rd-party "partners" such as:

Hi Borm,

What they meant is Acrobat's functionality to import and embed 3D. But 3D viewer component will remain in further versions of Acrobat and Reader (PDF's compatibility has to be kept).
