On February 6, 2013, the EU Commission released the Roadmap on Substances of Very High Concern. The document says that in 2011, the EU committed to have 136 Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) on the REACH candidate list by end of 2012. This commitment was met in December 2012 and 138 SVHCs are now included in the candidate list. The list is the first step in selecting substances to be subject to authorization.
Moreover, ECHA has released a roadmap planning which will lead to a continous increase of numers of substances added to the candidate list. For more details read this blog post on our community space.
