Dear Team,

The implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud is to be done, so as much SAP standard functions as possible will be adopted: below is a structured approach to map the client's business requirements to the SAP standard functionalities.

Vertical: Foundry stainless steel production process

Requirement: Mould Date code availability-based Melting Production Order generation is possible Standard SAP S4 HANA Public Cloud?

Example: 4 different types of mould stocks are available, based on that need to plan same grade liquid metal for production?

Product Structure Mapping in SAP S/4HANA

  • Make-to-order (MTO) is applied to all products except those in the Melting Stage.
  • MTO-type finished goods, pouring SFG, Mould, Core.
  • Configured with strategy 20 (Make to Order Production)

The foundry's product structure can be represented using Multi-Level BOM and Routing:

Product Level

SAP Object

Manufacturing Strategy

Finished Goods (FG) – Stainless Steel

Final Product BOM

Make-to-Order (MTO)

Semi-Finished Goods (SFG) – Pouring SFG (Core + Mould + Melting)

Sub-assembly BOM

Melting – Raw Materials + Consumables

Make-to-Stock (MTS)

Mould – Raw Materials + Consumables

Core – Core Sand
