In this how-to blog, we’ll guide you through the process of using the new mass classification functionality, for Dangerous Goods Management within Product Compliance, which will make your life easier. For more information about this feature, including technical information, go here

Use the mass functionality with Classify Selected Products in the Classify Unpackaged Dangerous Goods app, by selecting multiple packaged dangerous goods in section Related Packaged Products or Use the mass functionality with Classify Selected Products in the My Packaged Dangerous Goods app, by selecting multiple packaged dangerous goods in the worklist.

With this new feature you use mass classification when you have a product which you want to sell it in different distribution chains, but don’t want to use the same product name for all.

Here you have 4 versions of a 100-liter drum and a 20-liter version.

You have already added the compliance purposes for transport with the EU and North America.

After selecting the products, you need to fill out the first line with the correct information including Enclosure Variants and Exemption Category.

You select the line with the correct information and click on Copy.

Then you highlight the other lines to copy the information and click on Paste.

After making sure all the information is correct, in this example you must set the one product quantity to 20-liters.

Now the system will calculate dangerous goods descriptions and labeling for all the products.

Now you have a chance to update the Transport Permission for the compliance requirement versions in the compliance purpose.

For IATA, 100-liter drums are not allowed for transport, but the 20-liter product is allowed. You change the 4 products and set the Transport Permission to Forbidden. Finally, click on Release on the bottom.

Now you see that the classification for each product is set to Released.
