SAP Build Apps Booster Fails at "Checking Custom Identity Provider" with Unexpected Internal Error

Hello SAP Community,

I am trying to activate the SAP Build Apps booster in my SAP BTP trial global account. The process consistently fails at the "Check Prerequisites" step, specifically at "Checking Custom Identity Provider", with the following error message:

"We are sorry, but we have encountered an unexpected internal error. Please try again later."

As a result, subsequent checks including "Checking Entitlements" are skipped and the booster setup cannot complete.

• I have clicked the Rerun button several times, but the error persists.

• The trial account was created recently and I am following the standard booster activation steps.

• Attached is a screenshot showing the error for additional context.

  

Has anyone else faced this issue recently or does anyone know a solution/workaround? Is this a backend issue on SAP's side? Any guidance from SAP support would be appreciated, as I'm unable to proceed with my SAP Build Apps trial.

When I ran the Booster on my previously used Trial environment, it resulted in an error.
So, I recreated the Trial environment, activated CIS in advance, and then executed the Booster again — this time, it was successfully activated.

It might be worth trying this approach.

Hi KISEKI,

I tried by creating a new trial account, activating Cloud Identity Service and then run the booster for SAP BUILD APPS. But again it got failed at step Checking Custom Identity Provider.  I also tried to "Establish Trust" with CIS from the Trust Configuration on my subaccount, which is giving error as "404 Not Found: "{"error":"Error during communication with IAS. Error was: 404 Not Found: \".

Any help would be very much appriciated.

Hi everyone,

SAP Support suggested following the official tutorial steps from the link below to manually configure the Identity Authentication Service (IAS) and establish the trust setup:

However, while performing these steps, I encountered a new issue at the “Establish Trust” stage.
When I click Establish Trust, I receive the following error:

 

404 Not Found: "Error during communication with IAS. Error was: 404 Not Found - You did not enter a valid URL." (Correlation ID: b6b71bd1-d080-4ff2-4fb1-30a32fac0fd8)

Please find the attached screenshot for reference.

Has anyone else experienced this issue while setting up the SAP Build Apps booster or establishing IAS trust in the trial account? Any insights or workaround would be appreciated.

✅ Update:
SAP has now fixed the issue with the “Checking Custom Identity Provider” step in the Get Started with SAP Build Apps booster. I retried the setup today, and all prerequisite checks are passing successfully.

 Note:

Before rerunning the booster, make sure to complete Step 1 and Step 2 from the official SAP tutorial:

After completing those steps, rerun the booster — it should work smoothly now.
