Why SAP Enable Now does not add a step description when the SAP ERP is recorded?

Hello,

I´ve been recording different transactions (e.g VA01). For what ever reason, the bubbles do not contain any text like "Click here" or "Field is filled" like it used to be. When I record other applications like Outlook, it works just fine.

Two possible reasons come to my mind:

  1. Something in the settings
  2. Something with SAP Script

Thank you!

Hi Alex,

You can find the require setup for SAP GUI in chapter 2 of Enable Now Cloud Producer Manual. This manual is available from Enable Now site on help.sap.com.

Hello Peter,

thank you for your quick reply! Could you explain in more detail?

  1. If it is the script settings, what are the to-be settings?
  2. What do you mean with "...settings for the author computer"?
  3. What you mean with "virtual environment"?
    Process is as follows:
    1) Open SEN & SAP ERP instance (in most cases the Q-System)
    2) Specify recording setting (size, profile etc.)
    3) Record

And I have just noticed that field entries are not recognised in ERP and also in other applications. The input value like material number is available but the bubble does not contain any text lilke "The field is filled/cleared".

Hi Alex,

What recording profile is being used?
Depending on the SAP, is scripting enabled on Sapgui and server sides?

My first thought are the settings too.

Please check the script settings (server side and client side) and then the settings for the author computer.

What comes up right now: did you record a virtual environment? Please make sure that the recording itself has to be done in the virtual environment too. Otherwise the recording engine does not know what is clicked.
