WFA Starter Packages Not Loading with No import logs generating

We are loading the advanced starter package for a WFA implementation.  We do currently have a ticket for an OLAP maintenance error on the initial import we found based on another community post so not sure if this issue is related or different. 

When we go to load the adv or starter packages from the implementation kit, the import screen spins.  After waiting some time, we refresh the page and look at the import status.  Nothing appears to be happening with no log outputs or tables generated.  The main home page does say the system is ready for OLAP processing.

Can you let us know if this needs another ticket?

Hi @sfsapsvsv - can you please describe step by step with screen shot for each step on how did you import the template configuration to the instance? I cannot see anything from the load status log so it is as if no import activity has been done before. We never had issue with importing the template configuration so I wonder if there is a misstep when you import the config.  Please also specify which template configuration did you use.  You said advanced starter package but they are two different templates.

@YSE-1 We figured it out. The load page and the initial document mentioned the XML file. The (.gz) is what needed to be uploaded and the extraction was also giving some trouble. The adv package loaded fine. We have cleared all the errors seen in validation tables (check boxes are green) but still have the OLAP maintenace error.

@sfsapsvsv- what do you mean by maintenance error? Can you please describe how did you run the initial load? Did you click on the "Process Initial Load (Fact Data & Cube)" link to start the initial load (see screen shot)?

When did the error appear?  In the Load Status log, I don't see any entry that initial load has been triggered.  So, I wonder if you click the wrong thing to start initial load process.  If you are referring to this message under Company Status, you can ignore this as long as the Validation show all okay.

Another thing, you enabled all fact tables in the configuration.  I strongly suggest turning off all of them except for Workforce fact table.  This is the main fact table for Core Workforce metrics pack.  As you just started new implementation, it is better to start with 1 metrics pack first.  It is also helped to narrow down the issue if you get error during initial load processing as well.  The processing time will be faster as well as each fact table can add 15-30 mins of processing time depending on the number of records processed.

@sfsapsvsv- I tried to run initial load manually and got the same error message. I also tried to schedule the initial load but it did not run, most likely because of the same error.  Please create support ticket, we need Engineering to check as I don't know what setting is missing.

Also, I tried to open the "Maintenance Page" in WFA on HANA Data Factory:

but it gave me this error:

I checked "Company Configuration Editor" in the wstwebapp (back-end) for this instance and there is no entry there.

Hi @sfsapsvsv - there is a known issue with the import somehow it does not refresh the page.  But if you open a new tab and check the load status for the import status, it usually gets imported successfully.

Also, you can also go to the Tables and Columns in the Data Factory configuration to check if there is fact table listed there or not.  If available, that means the template configuration has been imported successfully.  You still need to run initial load manually though.

@YSE-1 we have done all of that. Nothing is coming in from the import, including tables. I am wondering if this is related to the OLAP maintenance error we are seeing, but am not sure.

Below is what I am seeing.

Provisioning settings do not have the WFA Client (Metric Cube Data source) Checked.  It is uncheckable. Not sure if that matters but it is different than the screenshot I have seen.

Initial Load gives error

Load adv or starter packages leave for 15 minutes. Screen spins. I did notice the adv package is extracting weird and as 0KB as the file size.  The starter package does show it has something but same issue of not loading. Let me know how I can send the file since they will not load here.

Hi @sfsapsvsv - When you ran the initial load, have you upload the template configuration successfully? If you run initial load before uploading the template configuration, the error is most likely because there is no WFAoH data factory configuration there.

The support has tried to upload the standard template configuration to the instance and found no issue. Please reach out to support if you want more detail.

Also, when extracting the template configuration, please use 7-zip to unzip the file. A different partner before experienced error when he used the standard "Extract All" option on Windows 10 File Explorer.

@YSE-1that error is coming in when we click the Process Initial Load (Fact Data & Cube) link. I have disabled all the tables except the core table as recommended (all boxes still green) in the validation. This message appeared after we loaded the package - Configuration is not valid. Build Fact Data & Cube will fail. For list of errors use Validation.
