Hi Community,

Is there a way to include webcam option in demos created in Producer? Does Enable Now has this feature where you can add a webcam (of urself) along with the displayed slides (a bit similar to power point) ?

Many Thanks!

Sorry, not possible. That would require the capture of full-motion video, which SAP Enable Now does not capture even in the base case. The only way I can see of achieving this is to record your own video, then add this to the Step (embedded in a Shape or other rich-text-holding object) and set it to play automatically.

(But if you're just after a 'talking head' of a narrator - ask again in about a year...)

Hi Dirk, thanks for the reply.

However, what do you mean exactly by "add this to the Step (embedded in a Shape or other rich-text-holding object)" . I'm not sure I understood.

He meant adding it inside the element that supports not only a plain text.

What I mean is:

  1. Record the video (using whatever tool you like). You'll need to do this per step.
  2. Store the video in your Workarea (either as a hidden asset to the Simulation or somewhere else)
  3. Select the Step in the Simulation.
  4. Insert a Shape (Insert > Page Macro > Shape) then set the Type and Orientation to Rectangle.
  5. Click in the Text property for the shape to open up the Text Editor.
  6. Click Insert (the yellow '+") > Insert Video, then navigate to and select the video you stored in Step 2. In the Edit Video dialog box make sure you select Play Automatically. Click Ok to close the dialog box.

That's it. It is horribly painful and labor-intensive, and I really wouldn't recommend it, but that's really the only way I can see of achieving what you want to do. But just to show you what it would look like, I've gone away done it here.
